I first heard of Kennedy Rhodes when Rattle the Stars PR sent out applications to read and review her upcoming novel Untanlged. When I saw that this book included hot blue aliens, I was sold! Untangled is the second book in her interconnected series following Uprooted and boy did I EAT that one up.

I sped through Uprooted before I was sent an early copy of Untangled. Although these both can be read as standalones, I wanted to get an idea of the characters I would meet to prepare for the ARC. Uprooted  follows the love story between Elowen - a human botanist researching other planets in order to stop Earth's food crisis, and Aro - the spontaneous j'Tilak space station security captain. 

Elowen tries her very best to stick to the rule of no interspecies relationships at the space station but Aro's witty banter, generosity, confidence, and gorgeous alien features make it extremely difficult.  As for Aro? He forgot the rules the moment he laid eyes on Elowen. 

Elowen and Aro are perfect because they bring out the best in each other, they protect each other, and teach and show each other new things. Aro brings so much beauty, knowledge, and acceptance to Elowen's life and Elowen helps Aro understand more about himself, his people, and their ancient pasts. 

As fated mates, there isn't a single thing in the universe that will keep them apart. Not the rules, not their difference in cultures, and definitely not the human destroying monsters mysteriously set loose the same time the humans are visiting.
